Just recently, WhatsApp started the beta testing of its Communities feature on Android with the potential to improve group chat experience on the app. For the ones involved with the test, the option to create new Communities occupies a spot in tab bar on fat left-hand side alongside the options for chats, status and calls. This is the place which was used for be for camera, so how were you suppose to take the photos. Thankfully it looks like WhatsApp has found new spot for the camera.
WhatsApp camera shortcut had been available by swiping right on list of chats or in the tab bar on the left side. With the Communities taking its place, WABetaInfo observes missing shortcut could return, though now next to the search button as well as hamburger menu. Works for the relocation is in process and is not available to the beta users just yet and it is completely possible that the app could find another home for camera shortcut by the time Communities makes its way to stable channel. There is another possibility is a floating camera button like the one the users see in Status tab.

Mark Zuckerberg officially announced WhatsApp Communities in April 2022, allowing its users to create sub-groups within groups. He called it a major evolution of WhatsApp and told that it has entered testing phase. Since Communities would be a significant addition to messaging, the company planned to roll out slowly. Now it has been few months since the announcement but Communities has not made it to the users. That is now changing as select WhatsApp beta users have gained access to the feature.
It has been reported that Communities tab is showing up for creation users who updated to WhatsApp beta for Android v2.22.19.3. You can force close and then relaunch the app in order to see if that enables Communities for your account if you are already running latest beta. If you are one of the lucky ones who have access to this feature you will see Communities tab instead of Camera tab on the main WhatsApp screen. You can go to the tab and start by creating a Community where you can add up to 10 groups with support for up to 512 participants. A community member will decide which sub-group he/she needs to join based on the interest. They can exit the sub-group whenever they want without leaving community itself.

A major bug hit Facebook earlier today and this time it was not about a network glitch so people were not forced to go offline. This strange bug caused configuration change which flooded people’s feed with celebrity posts. The issue has been fixed by Facebook and the user feeds are back to normal.
This bug bombarded people’s feeds with random fan messages which were directed at celebrity accounts. These messages would target many celebrities like Shakira, Eminem, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga and many more. This problem instantly gained attraction on other social networks and it is still trending on Twitter. It was an enormous bug that targeted some of the most famous and followed accounts on Facebook like Rihanna, Cristiano Ronaldo, Shakira and many more. all of them have more than 100 million followers each. It affected multiple countries across desktop and mobile devices.

It happens some times that you send a WhatsApp message to an unintended recipient or an unintended message is sent to intended recipient. You can delete the sent messages and not having see them ever again as long as you realize it on time. But what if you have delete a wrong message which was not meant to be deleted or to the worst scenario delete it for yourself instead of for all the recipients in group chat? WhatsApp is testing a way to undelete the message after deletion.
Two months ago WhatsApp was testing on the option to undo accidental message deletion. The feature is now rolling out to many beta testers on Android with version 2.22.18.13 of the app but some of the users could find the option to undelete older versions as well. Once you have deleted the message for yourself, a floating snackbar notification appears at the bottom confirming you for the deletion. It has also got undo button to help recover deleted message. It should be noted that snackbar is visible only for few seconds and that is all the time you need to change your mind and rescue message from the ether. Many of the apps have similar interface flow for undoing the task and Gmail is one of them.

YouTube does not want its users to share their shorts on other rival social media platforms without taking credit for it and the latest update shows us that YouTube is very serious about it. YouTube has added watermarks to its short videos in order to discourage cross=platform sharing on Instagram or TikTok.
Unlike Instagram or TokTok, YouTube has not been adding watermarks to its videos but that has changes today as YouTube has announced through support thread that it will add watermarks to its Shorts once they are downloaded for sharing on other social media platforms. This change has already been live on its desktop version. IN a few months it will also be available on the mobile phones.
Social media creators prefer to share their content across all platforms to maximize the engagement. So instead of starting from scratch every time it makes more sense to share the same video on other platforms. However, YouTube’s new update aims at bringing people back to the original source of their favorite content. TikTok has done it already with its own watermarks and these watermarks show the creator’s username so you can find the original version on TikTok easily. YouTube’s watermarks may work in the same way.

It is very easy to get overwhelmed with as many pictures as we snap on your smartphone cameras. Pixel users can hide the images from their photo gallery’s primary view by using the Archive option. That is the way things have worked but, in an effort, to make its app a bit more modern sounding, Google is in the process of renaming Archive to Hidden.
Archive option is used on email account to save the messages for reference later immediately hiding selected threads from our inbox. The Archive setting works similarly on Google Photos you can select various different photos at the time and press the Archive option for hiding them from primary gallery view. These images can still be found in albums and search results. Archive option is now being renamed as Hidden by Google, so when you open a photo and swipe up on it, you will see Hide option replace the Move to Archive button. We can also notice the same shift taking place in Library tab. The change will come to Photos app on Android.

According to reports, the upcoming Apple AirPods lineup will be equipped with a USB Type-C charging case. It is believed that Apple will launch USB-C port update in the coming year. Apple has now decided to replace Lightning Ports for all its devices with USB Type-C ports because of the ruling of EU that named USB Type-C as standard charging port.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo who is an analyst at TF International Securities, Apple will launch USB Type-C charging cases in 2023. He also added that this year the upcoming AirPods Pro 2 will be supporting Lightning port. It is still not confirmed yet that the upcoming Apple AirPods Pro will have a USB Type-C port or not. We can expect official announcement from the management in the coming months.
