ChatGPT’s Internet Superpower – Real-Time Info Access Unleashed

September 29, 2023 by Emily

ChatGPT

OpenAI has recently come up with an exciting news about ChatGPT on X platform which was previously known as Twitter. They have come up with the news that ChatGPT has now been equipped with a new superpower and it can now use internet for finding the information in real-time. It is a huge news as previously ChatGPT was only able to use the information which was available till September 2021.

So, the question is how ChatGPT do this? It is just like having a superhero power under your belt. It has joined hand with Microsoft’s Bing search engine which will help you answer all your questions. Whenever you ask anything from ChatGPT, it talks to Bing and then Bing finds the answers from internet. The answers are then used by ChatGPT to give you the response. At the moment this update is only available for the ones who are using the fancy ‘Plus’ and ‘Enterprise’ plans of ChatGPT. But you need not to worry as they are planning to share it with everyone soon. OpenAI has not conformed it yet that when exactly it will be available for everyone. Before this update, ChatGPT had a little issue as it could come up with the information until September 2021. That means if you have asked about something after Sep 2021, it was like ChatGPT becomes limited. Many users found it frustrating especially if they needed to know about the recent events.

Here’s another intriguing tidbit, though. There are rumors circulating that OpenAI may sell some of its shares, particularly in the Wall Street Journal. If they succeed, OpenAI could be worth a staggering $90 billion, which would be a threefold increase over their value as of January. The impressive work being done by OpenAI is the reason for what appears to be a significant jump. And you might be curious as to why ChatGPT can now use Bing. Well, Microsoft deserves credit for that. They control 49% of OpenAI, making them the bigger brother. Microsoft is investing a sizable sum of money in this collaboration, and they have ambitious plans. This year, they want to earn $1 billion in revenue, and they have even loftier goals for succeeding years.

So, in a nutshell, Microsoft’s support has enabled ChatGPT to become supercharged with internet capabilities. Who knows what amazing things ChatGPT will help us learn about next as OpenAI makes significant strides?

The Unconventional Path to the Top – How Lapse App’s Invite-Your-Friends Strategy Took It to Number One

September 27, 2023 by Emily

Lapse app

Lapse is a famous social media camera app that was the talk of the town way back in 2021. Now this app has found a new way for attracting the users as it now makes the users invite their friends before you are able to use it. The redesigned version of Lapse has hit the number 1 spot on U.S. App Store charts. Previously it was resting on number 118. This camera app provides a similar experience to various other apps like Later Cam and Dispo etc. However, there are many who think that its recent success might not be wholly on the up and up.

Now a days many apps use growth-hacking techniques in order to go viral. But Lapse is taking a different approach with its invites. Instead of only restricting the app to invited users, it makes you invite your friends in order to unlock its features. Ben Silvertown came up with the concept for Lapse. In response to users who were using it more as a photo journal than a disposable camera for parties, Lapse underwent changes from its initial 2021 launch. The new Lapse keeps the random development of photos, but it now emphasizes organizing photos into albums and building user profiles with monthly photo collections. The app became more well-known organically as a result of TikTok ads’ promotion. Lapse’s onboarding procedure, which compels users to invite friends to use the app, is, however, not universally praised. Some people find it annoying and even compare it to a pyramid scheme.

Dan acknowledges the debate but stands by the method, saying that Lapse appeals to young users who want to share photos without the constraints of other photo-sharing apps. The text-your-friends invite strategy, though not new, has previously drawn criticism. Lapse’s biggest challenge, though, will be to sustainably grow its user base and convert its initial buzz into a profitable venture. It’s unclear whether Lapse will be successful in meeting this challenge given that many apps have done so in the past.

Spotify’s AI Tool Translates Podcasts Using Your Voice – Here’s How

September 26, 2023 by Emily

Spotify's AI Tool

Spotify has started testing an AI-powered tool that will let the podcast creators to translate their episodes into multiple languages. Spotify is adopting the use of generative artificial intelligence to let the hosts provide different versions of their show in multiple languages automatically. Spotify is using OpenAI’s newly introduced voice generation technology to provide new translation feature that is claimed to preserve the style of original speaker.

Spotify has recently announced that the voice translated episodes from the podcast creators in English are part of testing and it will be available in German, Spanish and French language. The translated episodes will be available to the users in free as well as premium tiers in all of the countries where Spotify is available. Using OpenAI’s voice generation technology, Spotify claims that the tool can mimic the podcast host’s speech patterns. Voice translation, as opposed to dubbed podcast episodes, will give regional listeners the option to hear the episode in the host’s voice, the streaming service claims, giving a more intimate and genuine experience.

Some of their current episodes will soon be available on the platform in French, German, and Spanish thanks to the new voice translation tool, which is currently being tested by podcast hosts Bill Simmons, Dax Shepard, Lex Fridman, Monica Padman, and Steven Bartlett. The platform states that future episodes from these podcasters will also be automatically translated. Additionally, according to Spotify, when Trevor Noah’s upcoming original podcast debuts later this year, it’s anticipated to support the automatic translation service.

YouTube Unveils AI-Powered Editing Tools for Video Content Creators

YouTube Tutorials Forum

The latest effort by parent company Alphabet to incorporate generative AI — technology that can create and synthesize text, images, music, and other media given simple prompts — into its most significant products and services is the rollout of a slew of artificial intelligence-powered features for creators on YouTube.

A tool called Dream Screen, which the company calls Shorts, uses generative AI to add video or image backgrounds to short-form videos, is one of the new products that YouTube unveiled on Thursday. Additionally, it unveiled brand-new AI-powered production tools for its platform that will aid in the editing of both short- and long-form videos. In a blog post timed to the announcement on Thursday, Toni Reid, YouTube’s vice president for community products, said, “We’re announcing a suite of products and features that will enable people to push the boundaries of creative expression.”. In March, the Google-owned video platform made its initial announcement that the tools were being created.

Google has been under pressure to demonstrate outcomes and useful applications for its generative AI products. Some detractors were concerned that Google, which has long been regarded as a leader in artificial intelligence, was losing ground to rival Microsoft and upstarts like OpenAI. They also believed that the products Google was releasing weren’t yet ready for general use. Both OpenAI’s ChatGPT and a new Bing chatbot from Microsoft, which has since 2019 invested $13 billion (nearly Rs. 1,08,100 crore) in OpenAI, have become immensely popular and well-liked. Google unveiled Bard, a product that competes with ChatGPT, a few months ago and has since been receiving regular updates. Additionally, the company has added experimental “search generative experience” features to some of its most significant services, such as its leading search engine. The product produces in-depth summaries in response to search queries using data it has gathered from the internet and other digital sources.

The launch of the new features coincides with a fierce battle between YouTube, ByteDance’s TikTok, and Meta Platforms’ Instagram Reels for market share in vertical, short-form video. With more than 70 billion views per day on Shorts, according to YouTube, the new generative AI tools seem to be a move to increase user and creator engagement and give YouTube an advantage over its rivals. In addition, the company unveiled YouTube Create, a smartphone application designed to facilitate the work of the platform’s creators in video production. The app has AI-enabled features like editing and trimming, automatic captioning, voiceover capabilities, and access to a library of filters and royalty-free music. According to the company, the app is currently available for free testing on Android in “select markets.”.

YouTube promised to give creators more tools for getting AI-powered insights, aiding in the automatic dubbing of videos, and helping them locate music and soundtracks for their videos in addition to the tools already mentioned.

OpenAI’s DALL-E 3 – Revolutionizing Text-to-Image Generation with ChatGPT Collaboration

September 21, 2023 by Emily

OpenAI's DALL-E 3

OpenAI has just come up with an enhanced version of its text-to-image tool known as DALL-E. This tool has now joined hands with ChatGPT which is the most popular chatbot of OpenAI. It will make the image generation process easily from the text prompts. Today the AI tools can take the descriptions of the images known as prompts and turn them into different styles of artwork from realistic to fantastic. Coming up with a right prompt is not a piece of cake and many people have turned it into profession known as ‘prompt engineering’.

OpenAI’s new DALL-E 3 has now teamed up with ChatGPT. People who have subscribed to OpenAI’s premium ChatGPT plans like ChatGPT Plus and ChatGPT Enterprise can request an image and refine it through conversations with chatbot. ChatGPT can easily take brief prompt and then make it more detailed giving better guidance to DALL-E 3 model. The new model of DALL-E 3 can easily produce high quality images that matches the prompts closely, especially with longer prompts.

In DALL-E 3, the goal is to increase safety while minimizing algorithmic bias. For instance, it denies requests for pictures in the likeness of active artists or famous people. Additionally, artists can now opt out of having their works used to train upcoming OpenAI text-to-image models. This action aims to respond to a lawsuit wherein OpenAI and some other businesses are charged with using artists’ copyrighted works to train their AI image models.

The launch of DALL-E 3 coincides with increased competition in generative AI, particularly in the area of image generation. OpenAI is under pressure to keep up with other businesses like Midjourney and Stability AI, which are constantly enhancing their image-generating models. In October, premium ChatGPT users will be able to access DALL-E 3, and then research labs and API users will be able to as well. The release of a free web tool, as they did with DALL-E 2 and the first DALL-E model, has not been mentioned, nor has it been indicated when it will occur.
