Facebook announcing its name change was the highlight of the year 2021. now the company itself is known as Meta, coinciding with the news of it’s focus on the metaverse. Now the new Meta name pop up across all the Facebook apps. All the app from the company now show on Play Store that they come from Meta Platforms, Inc.
It has been spotted that the Meta-made apps which include WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook are displaying Meta Platforms as their developer, rather than Facebook. From now on, all if the company’s Android apps will be found under this new name. Meta is trying its level best to convince the people that they are more than just an evil social media corporation. They want people to believe that metaverse will be something people are looking for. From now on if you are looking for any Facebook application, you will find it under Meta.

Google Photos has brought Memories to web users
Google is planning to roll out its Memories features to Photos on web. It is a very popular addition to the mobile apps since its launch in 2019. the feature initially highlighted the photos and videos in a Timehop-meets-Instagram-Stories- style but it soon expanded to add the spotlights on some particular people, trips, pets as well as recent highlights. The newly introduced roll-out was first seen by a German language smartDroid and it has been confirmed by various different AP writers.
Now in the newly introduced feature for web, users will be able to see a carousel of the memories that when will be clicked once will reveal familiar stories interface spending 10 seconds on every photo or video before moving to the next. By pressing the down key or just tapping on the down arrow located at the bottom of the screen will expand the highlight into a list of boxes so that you can instantly browse them manually.
The New Moto Edge X30 from Motorola is Reportedly Overheating
It has been reported that the latest flagship SoC of Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is overheating the Moto Edge X30, the first ever phone to use the chipset. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 has come up with a 20% boost over the last generation, the Snapdragon 888 but this one comes at some cost. The report suggests that Motorola phones are running the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 are getting very hot. It has also been warned that 2022 is going to be very hot year for Android phones because of the new chipset. Despite the new aluminum alloy frame, the overheating is still happening. The aluminum alloy frame was designed with the thermal conductivity in mind. The company has promised that the things will be much cooler but it wont be the case either.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 has been based on Samsung’s 4nm manufacturing process and ARM’s v9 architecture which is very highly power efficient. The extra processing power may be the cause behind the overheating issue.
The iPhone is Finally Coming up with a Huge Design Change After 5 Years
Since 2017, iPhone had been equipped with a wide notch on their displays which was expected to disappear with iPhone 13 but they have made it just smaller in size. Now the reports are that the notch may be laid to rest with iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. The report is based on the information that has been received from the display suppliers of Apple which say that the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro could come up with a punch-hole in place of a usual notch.
According to this report, Samsung has already received machines for laser cutting punch-holes into OLED panels for next year iPhones. These punch-hole display may be limited to iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models. The vanilla iPhone 14 as well as 14 mini may stick to same notches. Apple is pretty much confident about the Korean phone maker company’s ability to produce good quality punch-hole displays. Samsung will use HIAA (Hole-in-Active-Area) method for drilling the punch-holes which is the most advanced method of the company so far. Rumors are that iPhone 14 Pro could be equipped with 6.7-inch OLED display with a punch-hole cutout thus providing highest screen-to-body ratio on an iPhone. At the moment, iPhone is relying on Samsung’s LTPO OLED displays but LG is also working on the same technology. LG has not conducted any trials on this technology so Apple will stick with Samsung.

Realme 9i is Rumored to be Launched in January 2022
The Realme 9 series was expected to launch in this year but now it has beeen reported that the date has been pushed to the next year after the global chip shortage. Now the launch is expected in January 2022 with four different models. The four models expected to launch are Realme 9, 9i, 9 Pro and 9 Max.
According to a Vietnamese publication, some of the key specifications for Realme 9i which is the cheapest model in the series. According to some reports, Realme 9i will be empowered by Snapdragon 680, one of the new chips in SD600 series which are based on 6nm process. The screen of Realme 9i will be an LCD panel with 1080p resolution as well as 90Hz refresh rate. It will be equipped with a 50MP camera on the back side.
Redmi K50 (Poco F4) Series is Launching Soon
The sub-brand of Xiaomi i.e. Redmi is planning to launch Redmi K50 series very soon. It is a successor to the K40 series. According to some reports K50 series will be launched in early 2022 and it will arrive in China in February 2022. Just like Redmi K40 series, K50 series will have multiple models which will be empowered by four different chipsets including Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Snapdragon 870, Dimensity 9000 and MediaTek Dimensity 7000.
The newly introduced K50 series will run MIUI 13, it is however still not clear whether K50 series will be launched with Android 11-based MIUI or with Android 12. the official release date of this series has not been announced yet by Xiaomi. K50 series will include the models code-named Matisse and Rubens. Matisse will be the gaming variant which will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC. Matisse will be equipped with an OLED screen with an in-display fingerprint scanner and it will feature either 120Hz or 144Hz refresh rate. It will also be equipped with 64MP quad-camera system plus a cooling system for flawless gaming experience. This models may well be referred to as Redmi K50 Gaming Pro.
On the other hand, K50 Rubens will be equipped with Dimensity 7000 and it is rumored to be Redmi K50 Gaming non-pro model. Just like Matisse, Rubens may also be equipped with a 64MP quad camera system with special cooling mechanism for chipset.
