Glorious Model O2 Review – Superbly lightweight

The Glorious gaming mouse has long been the industry leader in portability. They have released a number of wired and wireless variations, including the original Model O, the Model D, and the Model I. The Glorious Model O2, their most recent product, is an improved and updated version of the acclaimed Model O. The multiple perforations on the mouse’s surface show that the Model O2 has improved sensors, redesigned buttons, and programmable switches despite its lightweight design. When we first opened the box, we noticed that the SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless, which also has a comparable weight, and this mouse’s size and shape are strikingly similar.

The Model O2 glides across the desk without effort thanks to its lightweight construction and 100% PTFE feet. While the Aerox 3 boasts RGB lighting, the Model O2 stands out for its hidden features. Glorious has improved the internals of the Model O2 to give it a higher maximum DPI, faster tracking, and longer battery life. Additionally, a new sensor in this updated version provides improved tracking and greater accuracy. A new hinge system and subtle grooves have been added to the main switches to improve comfort when using the mouse. The switches on the Glorious Model O2, including the side thumb buttons, deliver crisp responses and satisfying clicks. The mouse wheel responds in a pleasantly quiet manner and has a subtle tactile feel. Overall, the Model O2 wireless checks a lot of boxes, making it a great option for gamers.

The Model O2 has a 2.4GHz dongle for lag-free wireless gaming and can switch to Bluetooth mode by flicking a switch on the underside. It is advised to maintain the mouse’s low-RGB brightness mode, which is the default setting for battery conservation, as higher brightness levels will cause the battery to discharge more quickly. We discovered during our testing that the Model O2 required charging more frequently than we had anticipated, though this will vary depending on individual usage. When the battery is getting low, the RGB lighting serves as a helpful indicator by flashing red. The Model O2 includes a detachable USB-C cable that can be used to simultaneously charge the mouse and the game, but oddly, it can only be plugged in one way, which can be a little frustrating if you’re in a hurry. The Model O2, however, proved to be responsive and accurate throughout lengthy gaming sessions. We didn’t experience any signal issues. Overall, it’s a great option for wireless gaming.

Nvidia is officially relaunching its “unlaunched” 12GB RTX 4080 graphics card as the RTX 4070 Ti. After accidentally posting specs for the RTX 4070 Ti over the weekend, NVidia is making the GPU official today at the Consumer Electronics Show. Priced at $799 and available on January 5th, the RTX 4070 Ti looks set to take on AMD’s $899 pricing for its Radeon RX 7900 XT. This rebranded card is now $100 less than NVidia had planned to launch the original 12GB version of the RTX 4080, and it comes after the company faced criticism over pricing and how much more powerful the 16GB counterpart was. NVidia admitted in October that “having two GPUs with the 4080 designation is confusing,” before saying it was pausing the launch of the 12GB RTX 4080. Rumors quickly followed suggesting NVidia would relaunch the card as the RTX 4070 Ti.

Specs and Performance

NVidia claims that the 4070 Ti is faster than the RTX 3090 Ti, but they only allow comparisons for DLSS3-enabled devices, which the 3090 Ti doesn’t support. This cherry-picked comparison is skewed in the 4070 Ti’s favor with 1.5x to 2x performance improvement over the 3090 Ti.

Efficiency Improvements and Other Extras

Although the rasterization performance has improved over the years, Ada Lovelace’s architectural advances have helped the 4070 Ti in other ways as well. These include improved ray tracing performance, greater power efficiency (NVidia claims 226W of power consumption when gaming), and a media encoder that supports AV1 encoding.

And with that, this 3nm technology also delivers enhanced performance than chips that are running on 4nm and 5nm technology.Besides, the chips’ mass production also started last week, on which Mark Liu said that “Mass production of 3-nanometer chips is the fruit of decades-long collaboration with the local supply chain,”

Currently, there is no such accurate detail regarding which iPhone 15 series model is going inherit this new A17 Bionic chip. Still, in my opinion, Apple may choose the same way that it implemented with iPhone 14 series.Apple is the biggest customer of the TMCS’s 3nm technology because we would also see M2 Pro and ‌M2‌ Max chips run on this same technology.

Young had previously hinted at the release of iPad Pro units with 11- and 12.9-inch OLED displays in 2024. The upcoming models could come with slimmer bezels.Apple’s 11-inch iPad Pro has a traditional LCD screen, while the 12.9-inch model sports a mini LED panel. If the prediction by Young turns out to be true, Apple could ensure feature parity between the two ‌iPad Pro‌ models.

Not just focused on their new 13th gen Core desktop chips, Intel this morning is also kicking off 2023 for its mobile customers in a big way with the announcement of the 13th generation Core mobile family. Based on the same Raptor Lake architecture as Intel’s 13th gen Core desktop chips, Intel is launching (or at least, announcing) the full 13th gen mobile stack all in one go. This means everything from the ultra-portable U-series chips up to the desktop replacement-class HX-series. All of them gaining Raptor Lake’s CPU architectural enhancements, along with a smattering of new features that are coming to the overall platform.

Leading the lineup – and first SKUs out the door – are the 13th generation Core HX-series processors for high-performance notebooks. With SKUs featuring up to 24 CPU cores (8P+16E), Intel is looking to deliver desktop-level performance in the mobile space, with turbo clock speeds of up to 5.6 GHz, a turbo TDP of 157 W, and a base TDP of 55 W. Like previous iterations of the HX series, these parts are based on Intel’s desktop silicon (Raptor Lake-S), so they are designed to be placed in DTR-class laptops and are almost always paired with a discrete GPU.

Intel 13th Gen HX-Series Processors: Up to 24 CPU Cores, 5.6 GHz Max Turbo

The flagship line of Intel’s new 13th Gen Core mobile processors are the nine new HX-series mobile parts. Intel hasn’t only outlined its intent to equip OEMs with high-performance chips based on its desktop silicon, but they have just launched the first 24-core laptop-level processors, the Core i9-13980HX, the Core i9-13950HX, and the Core i9-13900HX to the market. Intel’s Core i9-13980HX is also the fastest mobile processor with a turbo clock speed of 5.6 GHz, which for a notebook is impressive.

The key features of Intel’s 13th Gen Core HX platform for mobile include up to 24 CPU cores, split up into 8 Performance and 16 Efficiency cores, which is the same core count as the flagship desktop Core i9-13900K. Also present is support for DDR5-5600 and DDR4-3200 memory (but no LPDDR5), along with up to 128 GB across four memory slots in a 2DPC configuration. One fascinating element of the HX-series is that it supports PCIe 5.0 x16, which can be split into 2×8, Intel doesn’t state if this will be limited to just graphics or if notebook OEMs can integrate PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 slots into the mix.

Samsung announces bigger, even brighter 77-inch QD-OLED TV

Samsung launched its QD-OLED TV lineup last year at CES promising higher brightness than other OLED TVs, particularly its arch-rival LG. However, it was only mildly brighter than LG OLEDs back then, and yesterday, LG unveiled its 2023 OLED TV lineup with up to 70 percent more brightness and peak levels reportedly hitting around 1,800 nits.Now, Samsung Display has announced that its 2023 QD-OLED TV lineup will hit up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness, possibly pipping LG and approaching Mini-LED TVs, if accurate. That’s thanks to a new QD-OLED Panel from Samsung Display, which uses a new “HyperEfficient EL” OLED material and Samsung’s IntelliSense AI. The TVs will also be more energy efficient and offer more accurate colors, according to Samsung Display.

Features of QD-OLED TV

Samsung Display has already made other, smaller QD OLED screen sizes beyond the 55 and 65-inch TV sizes for the gaming monitor market. Given the consumer demand for ever bigger TVs, though, especially among home cinema enthusiasts, the addition of a 77-inch QD OLED TV to 2023’s offering would really cement the technology’s position on the home entertainment landscape, addressing as it does arguably the main reason (limited screen sizes) not to buy a QD OLED TV in 2022.

Samsung Display also revealed in its pre-CES announcement today performance enhancing improvements to its QD OLED technology for 2023. Particularly promising is the way a new and improved optimization algorithm called IntelliSense AI combines with a new OLED Hyper Efficient EL material to improve the colour brightness of each RGB pixel (remember that QD OLED does away with the white sub-pixel used in regular WOLED panels).
