Instagram has quietly removed a feature which let the people to monitor the time that they spend on the platform daily. This limit feature displays the pop-up notification to the user once their app activity cross the pre-defined time limit, thus reminding them to conscious of their screen time and make it easy for them to select to quit out the app.
However now it seems that Meta needs the Instagram users to spend more time on the platform so that ti can cash in by targeting them with the advertisements. This could be the result of pressure from the business side given a sudden plunge in share value which was reported in the fourth quarter earnings of the company earlier this month. There is an increasing competition from various other famous platforms like TikTok, new regulations in EU and Apple’s iOS privacy changes which are making it more difficult for the company to track users via personalized ads.
In order monitor how many hours you have spent on the app you need to visit Settings>Account>Your activity.
