Samsung announces bigger, even brighter 77-inch QD-OLED TV

January 4, 2023 by tutorials-forum

Samsung 77-inch QD-OLED TV Overview

Samsung launched its QD-OLED TV lineup last year at CES promising higher brightness than other OLED TVs, particularly its arch-rival LG. However, it was only mildly brighter than LG OLEDs back then, and yesterday, LG unveiled its 2023 OLED TV lineup with up to 70 percent more brightness and peak levels reportedly hitting around 1,800 nits. Now, Samsung Display has announced that its 2023 QD-OLED TV lineup will hit up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness, possibly pipping LG and approaching Mini-LED TVs, if accurate. That’s thanks to a new QD-OLED Panel from Samsung Display, which uses a new “HyperEfficient EL” OLED material and Samsung’s IntelliSense AI. The TVs will also be more energy efficient and offer more accurate colors, according to Samsung Display.

Features of QD-OLED TV

Samsung Display has already made other, smaller QD OLED screen sizes beyond the 55 and 65-inch TV sizes for the gaming monitor market. Given the consumer demand for ever bigger TVs, though, especially among home cinema enthusiasts, the addition of a 77-inch QD OLED TV to 2023’s offering would really cement the technology’s position on the home entertainment landscape, addressing as it does arguably the main reason (limited screen sizes) not to buy a QD OLED TV in 2022.

Samsung Display also revealed in its pre-CES announcement today performance enhancing improvements to its QD OLED technology for 2023. Particularly promising is the way a new and improved optimization algorithm called IntelliSense AI combines with a new OLED Hyper Efficient EL material to improve the colour brightness of each RGB pixel (remember that QD OLED does away with the white sub-pixel used in regular WOLED panels).

New iPad Mini could be a year away

January 1, 2023 by tutorials-forum

New iPad Mini Overview

This year has been particularly big for the Apple iPad. In March, Apple released a new iPad Air, the fifth-generation model, and then in the fall there were two new iPads Pro (11-inch and 12.9-inch) plus a radically different iPad, the tenth-generation model. There have been rumors of a foldable iPad—something which in comparison to the folding phones which open to be a mis-shaped, mis-sized tablet, seems a much better idea. But now, Ming-Chi Kuo, a fiendishly accurate predictor of all things accurate, has weighed in on the future of tablets for Apple. In a pair of tweets, Kuo first said “I think its unlikely Apple will replace the iPad mini with a foldable iPad in 2025, which may be contrary to what some media previously predicted. It’s because a foldable iPad will have a markedly higher price than an iPad mini, so such a replacement is not reasonable.”

Features of iPad mini

  • 8.3-inch Retina display
  • A15 Bionic chip
  • 5G support on cellular models
  • Apple Pencil 2 support
  • Touch ID power button
  • USB-C port

Should You Buy an iPad mini?

The iPad mini is Apple’s smallest tablet device and the latest model features a new design, the A15 Bionic chip, a USB-C port, Apple Pencil 2 support, and more.Announced in September 2021, the iPad mini is among the oldest iPads in Apple’s lineup and it is midway through its product cycle. Apple does not seem to update the iPad mini regularly, leaving up to two and a half years between upgrades, and there is no immediate sign of a new model on the horizon. This means that now is still a good time to buy the sixth-generation iPad mini.

India’s 5G smartphone shipments to cross 4G shipments in 2023

January 1, 2023 by tutorials-forum

India’s 5G smartphone shipments to cross 4G shipments Overview

A new study has suggested that India’s smartphone shipments are expected to decline in 2022 due to a range of macroeconomic factors that are affecting consumer demand in the entry and budget segments. However, 5G technology is expected to drive demand for smartphones in 2023. In fact, India’s 5G smartphone shipments are estimated to grow 81% year-over-year in 2022, due to the expanding presence of 5G connectivity in lower price bands and the rollout of 5G networks in the second half of the year.

The study by Counterpoint Research predicts that cumulative 5G smartphone shipments will surpass the 100 million mark in the second quarter of 2023 and surpass 4G smartphone shipments by the end of 2023. In addition, a recent consumer study by Counterpoint found that 5G is the third most important factor for future smartphone purchases.

5G smartphone shipments to exceed 4G shipments in India next year

India’s overall smartphone shipments are anticipated to fall this time due to element force challenges and macroeconomic enterprises, but 5G will continue to drive smartphone demand in 2023, according to Negation exploration. In India, 5G data pets are anticipated to be about ten times faster than 4G. This network will be important for developing technologies like tone-driving buses and artificial intelligence.

Due to their growing presence in lower price bands( under Rs,000) and the development of 5G networks, 5G smartphone shipments are estimated to increase by 81 times over time in 2022. But this area hasn’t grown as presto as it could because of problems getting corridor, affectation, geopolitical conflicts, and other big-picture profitable problems that have braked the launch of 5G bias in the budget member.

Twitter will soon let you swipe between tweets, topics, and trends

December 31, 2022 by tutorials-forum

Twitter will soon let you swipe between tweets, topics, and trends Overview

Twitter will soon let you swipe to switch between views containing recommended and followed tweets, trends, topics, and more. In a tweet, Elon Musk announced that support for the navigation feature is coming in January. Musk first hinted at the feature earlier this month, noting that “the main timeline should allow for easy side-swiping between the highlights, the latest, the trends, and the topics you’re following.”The platform allows users to switch between a chronological timeline that shows the latest tweets in order and the home timeline, which offers recommended tweets, by tapping on the star icon in the top right corner of the screen. But this new feature takes things a step further by adding additional views and making them easier to access with a swipe. While this seems helpful, it might take some getting used to, as I could find myself unintentionally switching between different views while scrolling through my timeline.

It’s still unclear when exactly the feature will go live for all users. Still, it adds to the list of (somewhat unnecessary) Twitter features Musk has introduced this month, including counting views on tweets, “prioritized sorting” in conversations for Blue subscribers and square profile photos for brands.

While some thought Twitter had finally crashed for good, the app has been online since Musk’s announcement about the changes in architecture. While there is always the possibility that the app could crash and burn, since Musk cut Twitter’s employee count by more than half, for now, we’re moving forward with features like…swiping.

Keep in mind that the company has yet to roll out all of the promised features of Twitter Blue!

Nintendo Reportedly Cancelled Its Rumored ‘Switch Pro’

December 29, 2022 by tutorials-forum

Nintendo Reportedly Cancelled Switch Pro Overview

The rumored Switch Pro did exist at one point, John Linneman from tech analysis group Digital Foundry says, but Nintendo canceled it and channeled resources into a Switch 2, or whatever the Switch successor will be called. “So I think at one point, internally from what I can understand from talking to different developers, is that there was some sort of mid-generation Switch update planned at one point and that seems to be no longer happening,” Linneman said in a recent podcast episode. Analysts had predicted an upgraded Nintendo Switch and even speculated about its planned features based on information from developers and other sources reportedly familiar with the console. However, what we got instead was the Switch OLED model, the same console with a slightly bigger and better screen.

Rumors Speculate Next-generation Nintendo Console

However, Nintendo has canceled the Switch Pro and will no longer release a more formidable model of the Switch in order to concentrate entirely on a next-generation system, according to Later, he added that Nintendo would instead create a true Switch successor, with a release date more likely in 2024 than 2023, though this is only a speculation. This fits with the current speculations that a Nintendo Switch 2 rather than a Switch Pro is in the works, featuring an NVIDIA Tegra239 SoC equipped with an eight-core CPU, NVIDIA DLSS, and ray tracing capability, according to WCCFTech.

Although the time for a more potent Switch may have passed, it doesn’t mean the system has completely lost its appeal.
