Though Google Photos lost on the unlimited storage in 2021 but still it is the most famous app of Google. Some of the users have spotted an extra category in Google Photos that is a hint at a fresh way for sharing as well as watching smaller sections of the videos.
Reports are that there is a new option for snippets appeared in the search tab in photos. Now based on how the search page appears, snippets appear to be a new creation category along with the collages and animations. The icon shows strip if film, implying this will take a smaller section to a longer video for creating easily shareable clip. There are also reports that an option has been added to save specific snippets appearing in the app’s main carousel of the highlighted content.
The new magic wand button in Gboard is actually Translate for emoji
Emoji has become an integral part of our texting as well as messaging lives. Some people use them rarely while many of them enjoy using them every now and then. If you want to use the emojis in a better way then there is a new feature introduced for Gboard that tries to make the choice for you.
Some of the users have started to see magic wand button on their keyboard. When you have finished writing the sentence, tapping the button will insert many emojis that Gboard thinks are the closest match to what you have written. It has got two modes and tapping once will put an emoji translation after your text and tapping it twice will insert the emoji between each word. Sometimes it works perfectly while in other sentences it is just hit-or-miss thing. At the moment it looks like you are required your keyboard set to English but we may see support for more languages in future. If you need to try it for your device you need to make sure that your Gboard app is updated fully and maybe sign up to the beta program.
TikTok is coming up with a Watch History feature soon
TikTok is a fleeting experience by design and you scroll through your feed video by video hoping to come across something very funny, staggering or educational. Unless you share a clip it will disappear forever after few swipes. If you have ever lost a video which was worth-revisiting then there is a good news for you as TikTok is working on it now a days.
TikTok is planning to add a watch history to the app. According to some screenshots shared by XDA Developers, it will allow the viewers to go through the last seven days of the videos that they have viewed. They will be accessible via settings menu within the app. This feature is still in testing mode so it will take some time when it will be accessible to everyone. At the moment it is unclear who does and who does not have access to this feature. If it is in your phone then you will find it under ‘Content and Activity’ section on your preferences.
If you have forgotten to like a video then it is almost impossible to find that video unless you know who has uploaded that video and trying to find the video through the tags is nothing but a nightmare. If the video is viral enough you may find the mirrored versions on various other social networks like Twitter. Broadly speaking if a video on TikTok is gone then it is difficult to rediscover it. Instagram will soon introduce voice reply to Stories just like Snapchat
Instagram is one of the leading social media app that allows its users to share their photos and videos. But now it looks like that this social media giant will also jump into social audio tools like Facebook Live Audio Rooms, Clubhouse and Twitter Spaces. You can send the voice notes via Instagram DMs but now a developer Alessandro Paluzzi who is known for reverse engineering the apps in order to find the upcoming features.
On Saturday, Paluzzi shared a screenshot from Instagram Stories with microphone icon in the field for replying to the stories and stated that Instagram is working on the ability to reply to Stories with voice messages. at the moment there are loads of things which are unknown. The Story reply by audio is pretty much similar like Snapchat but it can still be a big hit among the users.
The better looking widgets of Apple Music are available for everyone
For the die-hard Google users, it may not be the first choice but Apple Music is a very solid streaming choice even on Android. The company has done a fantastic job in implementing the platform with some staggering features that you will not find on iOS like some robust widgets complete wit playback controls. With the latest update, Apple Music is making the widgets even better and full of colors.
The latest update includes some enhancements to both of its widgets. The most striking of them all comes from matching colors with the album artwork. Though it is not up to the par with YouTube music’s Material You themes but Apple Music has finally dropped its default pink hue when a song is playing, matching the primary color from the associated art of the song. When the music is not playing it will go back to its usual appearance. The widgets are getting resized thus making more rooms in exchange for padding around the border of every tool.
YouTube Music casting to Android TV, Chromecast, and Google TV is broken
The fans of YouTube Music are able to access their favorite tunes across different devices whether those are wireless speakers, phones or smartwatches. Normally the options include ability to stream YTM to your Google TV, Android TV and Chromecast unless you are one of the numerous people trying to access it today.
Reports are that users can cast to things like Nest Hub or Google Assistant speakers but start running into problems with Android TV and Chromecasts. YouTube Music has been tested on Android TV and it had the same negative results. Some of the users are reporting same problem with main YouTube app but that is not common one. One user indicate the issue first sprung up on Thursday when he and his wife attempted to send a YTM cast to their Chromecast. Google has said that they are aware of these issues and they are working on it in order to fix it. IN addition to YouTube Music, the bug is also affecting YouTube Kids.
Russian Government has restricted its citizen’s access to Google News
Russia is continuing to put restrictions on freely available information and in a latest move they have blocked citizen’s access to Google News. The communications regulator of Russia accused the Google news service of providing the access to the false information on the country’s military operations in Ukraine.
Google has also confirmed that their services have been restricted from 23rd March which means the common Russians don’t have access to Google News. According to the news agency Interfax, the Russian communications regulator Roskomnadzor has provided a statement that says that the US based online news resource in question provided the access to number of publications and materials containing the inauthentic and publicly important information about the special military operation in Ukraine.
Russia continued putting barriers on the citizen’s access to the free information since the war against Ukraine about a month ago. Just recently Russia put a ban on Facebook and Instagram with the Moscow court ruling that Meta is involved in extremist activities.
