Android users have got loads of options when it comes to taking notes and saving the links to visit later. You have got your pick of best note-taking apps, or you can just rely on something you already use every day like Slack or Telegram, those messaging services allow you to save the messages for later and message yourself. WhatsApp is now interested in playing a catch-up, and is now testing out its own enhancements to self-messaging. It sounds a bit silly to message yourself if you are not used to it, but it has its uses instead of installing dedicated app like Pocket to manage web links to revisit or an app like Google Tasks to maintain grocery lists.
As a multi-device support is already available, you could use chats with yourself to transfer small files between the devices. With new 2.22.24.2 beta release of Android app, WABetaInfo points out that select WhatsApp beta testers are getting access to try out “Message yourself” feature. As the name suggest, WhatsApp is adding chat option somewhat strange labeled “Me(You)”. When you will tap on the floating action button in the lower-right corner of the screen, it will prompt you to message new contact, a new group or a new Community. Under these options you see a list of all your contacts who also use WhatsApp. The new option to message yourself could sit atop the list of your contacts.
Elon Musk buys Twitter and fires leaders immediately
Elon Musk has finally bought Twitter with a $44 billion deal. Tesla CEO was seen entering into the Twitter headquarters with a sink on 26th October. With the video of his entry, he tweeted that “let that sink in!” After all this his first action was to fire Twitter executive Parag Agrawal and more leaders from the company.
Elon Musk fired executives escorted off the premises, especially Agrawal and Ned Segal who were responsible for Twitter’s finances. He also fired policy chief Vijaya Gadde which seems to be in line with billionaire’s wish to make Twitter less moderated platform. Elon Musk has promised to get rid of the bots and to add some form of content monetization option for most prolific Tweeters on the platform. He wants to add some crypto payments to platform, including a crypto wallet and more showcasing options for NFTs and NFT creators. The employees are concerned about their jobs. Elon Musk previously made it clear to cut down numerous employees by three quarters, so the morale is very low.
WhatsApp now makes audio and video calling easy for you
WhatsApp is planning to introduce the beta version of its latest update for the Android users which let you make audio as well as video calling easy for the users. This feature was announced earlier by the CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg. However, it was disabled due to unknown reasons for Android as well as iOS users.

These calls can be converted to group call if joined by over two people. In addition to that, the calls are end-to-end encrypted and no one else can neither join them or listen to the contents of the call.
WhatsApp message editing is almost ready to launch
Meta developers are pretty much busy all the time working on the new features for WhatsApp. They are working on bringing the multi-device support to Android tablets and blocking the screenshots of view-once media. Now they are also working on message editing on WhatsApp. While it is still in process, we have been informed that how this feature will end up working.
After so much time demanding for the edit option in Twitter, users have now get one but WhatsApp is still working on it. According to the reports, WhatsApp will provide the users up to 15 minutes to edit their messages after initial sharing. Once edited, the message will appear with a label making it crystal clear that it has been modified, just beside the timestamp showing when it was sent. The question remains that how it will sync between different devices, and what happens if the recipient is offline during the edit window, so you may have to wait for further insight.
Google Keep is going to have support for rich text with work towards multiple font sizes
Google Keep is a very handy tool which is used for keeping a track of quick little lists and notes on your phone. Google Keep is being enhanced greatly in order to make it more user friendly. Now it will have support for italicizing, bolding and underlining the text. You will have the option to select from few different font sizes.
It has got some in-develop markup changes which also has got few icons highlighting the effects. Google Keep will provide three font-size presets, rather than any kind of control. Now the main question that arises here is when Google might flip the switch and allow us start using these new text formatting options but at the moment none of them have proved accessible. Google could activate these remotely at the same time.
WhatsApp has started testing the option to hide your online status on Android
Last year, WhatsApp added an option of hiding your Last Seen status from specific contacts. For the privacy point of view, it was a step taken in the right direction but it is not only the feature that has company has been working on since then. Earlier, WhatsApp introduced the ability to hide your online status and now this feature is working its way to Android version of WhatsApp beta.
With the WhatsApp beta for Android v2.22.16.12 a new privacy setting has been accessed by WABetaInfo. According to their repost, opening the app and navigating to Settings > Account > Privacy > Last seen and online reveals an option to select who can see when you are online. The option is tied in with Last Seen settings directly as you can only select whether to have everyone know your availability or the ones who can see your Last seen. It looks like a straightforward addition but it is an addition that will bridge the gap between official WhatsApp application and mods like GB WhatsApp which users may install for extra privacy.
WhatsApp will soon block screenshots of media you’re only meant to view once
Now a days WhatsApp has been focusing on emoji, additional controls for group chat administrators and securing the chats. But just a few days ago, Meta CEP Mark Zuckerberg announced that they could look forward to three new privacy-centric changes coming to WhatsApp. The users are starting to see signs of one of those features that Meta’s CEO mentioned i.e. screenshot blocking for view-once messages. So very soon you will not be able to take screenshots and save the messages that senders intended you to see only once.
WhatsApp could follow in Snapchat’s footsteps and notify the sender when a recipient takes a screenshot of the content. When the feature rolls out, a prompt will introduce the beta testers to this improved version of view once media. It also restates you can not share, copy, forward or save the content. Tough it is a step in the right direction but you need to now there are ways to work around a screenshot blocker as well like you can take pictures of WhatsApp media with another device or can start a screen recorder before opening view once content.
