Instagram is experimenting the new feed that will show the post from certain users who are Meta Verified and legacy verified. This option will be available right beneath the Following and Favorites sections when you tap Instagram logo on the app. According to a post from the head of Instagram Adam Mosseri that they are testing this feature to let the users explore their Instagram feed as well as reels specifically from Meta Verified accounts.
This update comes after Instagram denied testing the feature initially despite tech expert finding the evidence of it in the code of the app. With the new feed, Instagram is looking to promote Meta Verified subscriptions and encourage more people for signing up. The Meta Verified service costs $11.99 per month on web and $14.99 per month on mobile provides the users a blue checkmark, better customer support and more engagement in searches as well as comments.
The step is taken after being influenced by Elon Musk’s approach with his verified-only feed and Meta Verified service. After taking the charge of Twitter last year, Elon Musk changed its name to X and introduced paid verification through premium subscription service. For just $8 in a month, subscribers can access loads of features like Verified tab in Notifications, support for longer posts and an edit button.
