Australia is planning to make social media companies obtain the parental consent for all the users who are under 16. The government has threaten to fine of almost AUD 10 million for the Internet platforms which fail to comply. Social media companies like Reddit and a dating app like Bumble are required to take all the necessary steps for determining the users age.

The new rules will put Australia among the most restrict countries in terms of age controls for the social media and built on the efforts to rein in the power of Big Tech. Facebook faced severe criticism from the US lawmakers after a whistle-blower came up with thousands of documents to the congressional investigators amid the concerns the company has harmed the mental health of the children.

The director of Facebook of public policy in Australia and New Zealand, Mia Garlick has said that the company was reviewing the new law and has understood the importance of ensuring privacy laws of Australia.

The challenges include exercise, walking and sleep etc. It has also got an enhanced optical heart rate sensor, 100 sports mode and SpO2 measurements. The watches have got 5ATM water resistance and they are compatible with iOS and Android devices.

PayPal is one of the most famous and biggest online payment platforms and they are now in talks to acquire Pinterest for $45 billion. If the talk is successful between the two companies then this will be the biggest social media acquisition in the history. Previously the biggest acquisition was of LinkedIn which was sold to Microsoft for $26.2 billion in 2016. PayPal is offering $70 per share for getting Pinterest. If everything goes to plan then the deal should be announced in next month right when the PayPal is going to report its quarterly earnings.

It is still not clear that whether the deal will be successful and the terms of the deal could change. After the acquisition of Pinterest, PayPal will be able to capture more of a e-commerce market where loads of online shoppers follow the influencers on various different platforms. This will help Paypal to diversify the sources of income with the advertising revenue. When Pinterest went public two years ago it was valued at $13billion but during the pandemic it has seen a significant growth.

Redmi is going to host a product launch event in the coming days where it will announce Redmi Note 11 series which include Note 11 and Note 11 Pro. Xiaomi has confirmed that they are going to see Redmi Watch 2 at the event. The confirmation of this news comes with a teaser from Redmi where they showed Redmi Watch 2 where you can see watch face.

We can expect a bigger screen for Redmi Watch 2. it has also been reported that the watch may come with 3 color options which include blue, beige and black. Xiaomi has now confirmed the launch date for Redmi Note 11 after few days it it’s leaks. The Redmi Note 11 and 11 Pro will launch in China on 28^th October. The launching date for this smartphone was revealed through a poster which also showed the design of the phone. Redmi Note 11 has a great resemblance with Redmi 10 from the rear side especially when it comes to main camera. It has also been equipped with JBL tuned speakers and a 3,5mm headphone jack. On the top of display there is a punch-hole selfie camera.

Pixel 6 series will have a feature known as ‘Quick Tap to Snap’ to allow the users access to Snapchat camera directly from the lockscreen of the latest Google phones. According to the company by letting the users to access the Snapchat camera from lockscreen, the Pixel 6 models have become fastest phones to make a Snap. This is the first time when a camera mode version of Snapchat is present to access from the lockscreen.
